Here are some of the projects that I have worked on that were primarily for utility. This section will expand as I live in Colorado with my grandmother and boyfriend, and fixer-upper projects fill up our weekends.
For the holiday season, I made these Bed Buddies for some of my family. They were a fairly easy project, and are much appreciated in the Colorado winter because they are filled with rice and can be heated in a microwave. Here's a step by step look at how to make your own patchwork Bed Buddies.
In the summer of 2013 when I got back from Germany, I went directly to my grama's house in Colorado in the Rocky Mountains. Ben met me there, and we spent two weeks working as ranch hands and fixing things up around the ranch. We helped my grama move several tons of hay that she bought, but we wanted to be able to use the storage space she had above the stalls in the barn without trying to throw bales of hay off of the top of the truck. Each bale of hay weighs about seventy pounds, so they are not easy to move.
